One year after Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine, Richard Engel journeyed to Kherson to document the stories of ordinary civilians who bravely joined an underground resistance to help liberate their city o from Russian occupation.

Richard Engel and team turned to Pomona Pictures to help bring to life these extra-ordinary stories through bespoke hand-drawn animations.
